TCL 65″ C8L Price in Kenya
The TCL 65″ C8L costs KSh 149,999 at Avechi. It is in stock with a 1-year warranty, and you can have it delivered or pick it up from our Nairobi shop.
The C8L is TCL’s 2026 premium 4K TV. It uses an SQD-Mini LED backlight (thousands of tiny LEDs behind a quantum dot layer) with 2,040 local dimming zones on the 65″ size, a native 144Hz panel and Google TV. It suits a living room where you sit roughly 1.7 to 2.5 metres from the screen, and buyers who want a very bright picture for daytime viewing, sport, films in HDR and next-generation console gaming.

Why buy the TCL C8L
- Bright enough for a sunny lounge. With a claimed 5,000 nits peak and a low-reflection screen, HDR highlights still pop with the curtains open, which is where cheaper LED TVs look washed out.
- Deep blacks for a Mini LED. 2,040 dimming zones on the 65″ let the TV switch off light behind dark parts of the picture, so night scenes and letterbox bars look black rather than grey.
- Every HDMI port is HDMI 2.1. A PS5, Xbox Series X and a soundbar on eARC can all be plugged in without giving up 4K at 120Hz on any input. Input lag of around 10ms keeps fast games responsive.
- All the main apps on Google TV. Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Spotify install from Google Play, and you can cast from an Android phone or use the voice remote to search.
- Better-than-average TV sound. Bang & Olufsen tuning, Dolby Atmos and up-firing drivers give more height and width than flat-panel TVs usually manage, so a soundbar is a nice extra rather than a must.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Very bright, colourful HDR picture | Default modes look punchy rather than accurate; switch to Movie mode for films |
| Strong local dimming and black levels | Some blooming around bright objects when viewed from the side |
| Four HDMI 2.1 ports, 144Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro | KSh 24,000 more than the 65″ C7L |
| Dolby Vision and HDR10+ both supported | Wall bracket not included |
| Google TV with Chromecast and Bluetooth 5.4 | Remote has no number keypad for free-to-air channels |
Which size is right for your room?
For a 4K TV, a comfortable seating distance is about 1 to 1.5 times the screen diagonal. For the 65″ that means roughly 1.7 to 2.5 metres from sofa to screen, which fits most Nairobi apartment living rooms. If you sit further back, step up a size. All four C8L sizes are in stock:
| Size | Dimming zones | Avechi price |
|---|---|---|
| TCL 65″ C8L | 2,040 | KSh 149,999 |
| TCL 75″ C8L | 2,584 | KSh 180,299 |
| TCL 85″ C8L | 3,200 | KSh 281,999 |
| TCL 98″ C8L | 4,032 | KSh 392,299 |
Prices last updated October 2026.
TCL C8L vs TCL C7L (65″)
| TCL 65″ C7L | TCL 65″ C8L | |
|---|---|---|
| Dimming zones | 1,152 | 2,040 |
| Claimed peak brightness | 3,000 nits | 5,000 nits |
| HDMI 2.1 ports | 2 of 4 | 4 of 4 |
| Wi-Fi | Wi-Fi 5 | Wi-Fi 6 |
| Shared features | SQD-Mini LED, 144Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, Google TV, Bang & Olufsen sound | |
| Avechi price | KSh 125,999 | KSh 149,999 |
Verdict: The C7L already gives you most of the C8L’s features for KSh 24,000 less, and it is the better buy if you mostly watch TV in the evening and own one games console. Pay the extra for the C8L if your room gets a lot of daylight, you watch plenty of HDR films, or you need more than two full-speed HDMI 2.1 inputs.
TCL C8L FAQs
How much is the TCL 65″ C8L in Kenya?
KSh 149,999 at Avechi as of October 2026. The 75″ is KSh 180,299, the 85″ KSh 281,999 and the 98″ KSh 392,299.
Do I need a decoder for free-to-air channels?
No. The built-in DVB-T2 tuner picks up Kenyan free-to-air channels such as KBC, Citizen and NTV once you connect an outdoor or indoor aerial. You still need a decoder for pay-TV like DStv or GOtv.
Does it come with a wall mount?
No. The box has the TV, table-top stand, remote with batteries, power cable and manual. For the wall you need a VESA 300 x 300 bracket rated for at least 22kg.
Can I watch Netflix and YouTube on it?
Yes. Google TV runs Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Spotify and thousands of other apps from Google Play. Showmax also installs while it runs, but MultiChoice announced in March 2026 that the service will close.
Does the C8L support PS5 at 120Hz?
Yes. All four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1, so a PS5 or Xbox Series X can run 4K at 120Hz with VRR and ALLM on any input. PC gamers can go up to 4K at 144Hz.
