Description
TCL 55″ 55T6D Price in Kenya
The TCL 55″ 55T6D sells for KSh 48,399 at Avechi. It is in stock with a 1-year warranty, and you can have it delivered or pick it up from our Nairobi shop.
The T6D is TCL’s 2026 entry QLED range, running Google TV on a 4K HVA panel with quantum dot colour. It replaces the older P745 with a slimmer metal body. The 55-inch model fits most Kenyan sitting rooms and bedrooms where the sofa is 1.5 to 2 metres from the screen. It suits families who mostly stream, watch the news and follow football, and want Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos without paying Mini LED prices.

Why buy the TCL 55T6D
- Richer colour than a basic LED TV. The quantum dot layer covers 93% of the DCI-P3 cinema colour range, so green pitches and skin tones look natural rather than washed out.
- Good contrast for the money. The HVA panel keeps blacks darker than the IPS panels found on many budget TVs, which helps when you watch at night with the lights off.
- Every HDR format that matters. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are both supported, so Netflix and Prime Video titles play in their best HDR version.
- Google TV and casting. Netflix, YouTube, Showmax and Prime Video install from the Play Store, and you can cast videos from your phone with Chromecast.
- Gaming basics covered. ALLM switches the TV to low-lag mode when a console is detected, and the Game Bar shows frame rate and picture settings without leaving the game.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos at a mid price | 60Hz panel, so no 4K 120Hz gaming |
| QLED colour on a high-contrast HVA panel | No local dimming, so HDR highlights are limited |
| Google TV with the full Play Store | 2.0 speakers are thin on bass |
| Slim metal design | Colour fades a little when viewed from the side |
| Five sizes from 50″ to 85″ | The P8L adds Mini LED for about KSh 9,600 more |
Which size is right for your room?
With a 4K TV you can sit closer than with an HD set. A good range is 1 to 1.5 times the diagonal, which for 55″ means about 1.4 to 2.1 metres. The T6D comes in five sizes at Avechi:
| Size | Avechi price |
|---|---|
| TCL 50″ 50T6D | KSh 42,999 |
| TCL 55″ 55T6D (this page) | KSh 48,399 |
| TCL 65″ 65T6D | KSh 75,199 |
| TCL 75″ 75T6D | KSh 106,199 |
| TCL 85″ 85T6D | KSh 160,299 |
Prices last updated October 2026. Only the 85″ model gets the ONKYO 2.1 speaker system; the other sizes use 2.0 speakers.
TCL 55T6D vs TCL 55P8L
| TCL 55T6D | TCL 55P8L | |
|---|---|---|
| Backlight | Direct LED | Mini LED with local dimming |
| Refresh rate | 60Hz | 144Hz |
| PS5 / Xbox at 4K 120Hz | No | Yes |
| Speakers | Same layout: 2.0 with Dolby Atmos | |
| Smart OS / HDR | Same: Google TV; Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG | |
| Avechi price | KSh 48,399 | KSh 57,999 |
Verdict: For streaming, news and sport, the T6D gives you most of what matters and saves KSh 9,600. If you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, or watch films in a dark room, the P8L’s Mini LED backlight and 144Hz panel make it the smarter use of the extra money.
TCL 55T6D FAQs
What is the price of the TCL 55T6D in Kenya?
The TCL 55″ 55T6D is KSh 48,399 at Avechi as of October 2026, with a 1-year warranty.
Will it show free-to-air channels without a decoder?
The T6D has an antenna input, but TCL’s published specs do not confirm which digital tuner is fitted to units sold in Kenya. Ask our team to check DVB-T2 support on the unit before you pay. A decoder or set-top box will work over HDMI in any case.
Does it come with a wall bracket?
The TV ships with feet for a table or TV stand. A wall bracket is not listed in TCL’s specs, so confirm with us when ordering, or buy a VESA bracket made for a 55″ screen.
Does the TCL 55T6D have Netflix, YouTube and Showmax?
Yes. It runs Google TV, so these apps come from the Google Play Store. You need a Google account and an internet connection to set it up.
Is it good for PS5 gaming?
It handles PS5 games well at 4K 60Hz, with ALLM keeping input lag low. The panel is 60Hz, so it cannot show the 120Hz modes some games offer. For those, look at the TCL P8L.
