Infinix announced the Note Edge in January 2026. It is a slim mid-range 5G phone built around a curved 1.5K AMOLED screen and a 6,500mAh battery in a 7.2mm body. It is a good fit for people who want a phone that looks and feels more expensive than it is, with long battery life and three years of Android upgrades, and who do not need several rear cameras.

Why buy the Note Edge 5G
- Thin without a small battery. Fitting 6,500mAh into a 7.2mm, 190g body is unusual at this price. Most users will get through a full day and well into the next.
- A sharp, bright curved screen. The 1.5K AMOLED panel is crisper than the Full HD screens on most rivals, and its high peak brightness helps when reading outdoors at midday.
- Charge other gadgets from it. 10W reverse wired charging can top up earbuds or a smartwatch through a cable, and bypass charging reduces heat during long gaming sessions on the plug.
- Useful extras. NFC, an IR blaster for controlling a TV or decoder, and JBL-tuned stereo speakers.
- Software support into the late 2020s. Up to three major Android upgrades from Android 16 is a solid promise for an Infinix phone in this range.
Pros and cons

| 1.5K curved AMOLED screen | No 4K video |
| 5G, NFC and IR blaster | IP65 is short of full IP68 water resistance |
| Three Android upgrades promised | Plastic frame and back |
| JBL stereo speakers | Curved edges can catch accidental touches |

| Avechi price (8GB/256GB) | KSh 35,199 | KSh 37,199 |
Verdict: Both phones share the same chip, so speed is similar. The Note Edge is cheaper and gives you a better AMOLED screen, a bigger battery, a sharper selfie camera and a lighter body. Pick the Hot 70 Pro only if full IP68 water resistance or a flat screen matters more to you.
Other phones to consider
- Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G (KSh 37,199): the same chip with IP68 and a flat 144Hz screen.
- Infinix Note 60 Pro 5G (KSh 46,299): adds a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, OIS camera, 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G (KSh 34,999): a close rival at almost the same price.
- itel Super 26 Ultra (KSh 24,899): a curved 144Hz AMOLED in a 6.8mm body for much less.
