Why buy the Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Compact
- Quiet sleep: Sleep Mode is rated at 20 dB, and the display light can be switched off so it does not disturb a bedroom at night.
- Right size for small rooms: The 16-27 m² effective area fits a bedroom or home office better than a large open-plan lounge.
- Hands-off running: The particle sensor drives Auto Mode, which changes fan speed as the air quality shifts.
- Easy to move: It sits on a desk or stands on the floor, and at about 2.2 kg you can carry it from room to room.
- Voice and app control: You can manage it through the Mi Home app or with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Rated at 230 m³/h for a unit this size | An independent test measured about 216 m³/h at top speed, a little under the rating |
| Sleep Mode at 20 dB with the display off | Top speed reaches 60 dB(A), which is noticeable in a quiet room |
| Desk or floor placement at about 2.2 kg | Effective coverage stops at 27 m², so it is not for large spaces |
| Works with the Mi Home app, Alexa and Google Assistant | Needs a nearby power socket, as it runs on its power cable |
Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Compact vs Xiaomi Temperature And Humidity Clock Pro
The Temperature And Humidity Clock Pro is the closest in-stock item to this purifier, but the two do different jobs. No other air purifier is in stock in this category at Avechi right now.
| Feature | Air Purifier 4 Compact | Temperature And Humidity Clock Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Avechi price | KSh 15,699 | KSh 3,999 |
| Main job | Filters particles out of indoor air | Displays room temperature and humidity, going by its name |
| Best for | Allergy-prone bedrooms and studies | Buyers who only want to keep an eye on room conditions on a budget |
Verdict: The clock costs far less, but it does not clean the air. If cleaner air is the goal, the purifier is the only one of the two that does that job. If you only want readings, the clock is the cheaper choice.
Other options to consider
- Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini, KSh 6,999. Picks up dust from floors. It is a different job from air filtration, but useful if floor dust is your main concern.
- Xiaomi Mi Smart Kettle Pro, KSh 6,099. A lower-priced Xiaomi smart appliance for the kitchen if your budget covers home gadgets in general.
- Mi Smart Clock, KSh 5,999. Another Xiaomi smart home item that costs less than the purifier.
