Why buy the Galaxy S26 FE
- Software support into the 2030s. It starts on Android 17 with seven upgrades promised, so it should be supported about a year longer than the S25 FE and three years longer than the S24.
- A modern 3nm chip. The Exynos 2500 replaces the older 4nm Exynos 2400 used in the S25 FE, which helps with efficiency and heavier apps.
- Zoom that works. The 3x telephoto with OIS gives natural-looking portraits and lets you frame a church choir or a school play from your seat.
- Fast top-ups. 45W charging is rated at about 69% in half an hour, and it also supports wireless charging.
- Built for daily knocks. IP68, Victus+ glass on both sides and an aluminium frame for a phone you plan to keep for years.

Verdict: This is a chip and software update, not a redesign. Buy the S26 FE if you keep phones for five years or more, since its support should outlast the S25 FE’s by about a year. If you upgrade every two or three years, the S25 FE gives you the same camera and battery for less.
