The Smart 20 is Infinix’s entry-level phone for 2026, announced in February. It covers the basics well: a large 120Hz screen, a 5,200mAh battery, a memory card slot and a headphone jack, plus NFC, which is rare at this price. It suits first-time smartphone users, a parent or grandparent who mainly uses WhatsApp, calls and M-Pesa, or anyone who needs a cheap backup line.

Why buy the Infinix Smart 20
- Smooth screen for the money. A 6.78-inch 120Hz panel makes scrolling through Facebook, TikTok and news apps look smoother than on most phones at this price.
- NFC on a budget phone. Tap-to-pay and quick pairing with NFC accessories are features usually missing below KSh 20,000.
- Room to grow. The dedicated microSD slot lets you keep two SIM cards and still add storage for music, photos and videos.
- Built to survive daily knocks. It is dust and splash resistant and drop-tested to 1.5m, useful for a phone that lives in a pocket on matatu rides.
- Thin and simple. At 7.7mm it is slim for a 5,200mAh phone, and the headphone jack means old wired earphones still work.

| Avechi price | From KSh 14,799 (4GB/64GB) | From KSh 19,699 (4GB/128GB) |
Verdict: The Smart 20 is fine for calls, chats and light browsing. If you take many photos or use your phone heavily all day, the Hot 70 is worth the extra KSh 4,900 for its much better 50MP camera, faster chip, bigger battery and three times the charging power (45W vs 15W).
