Why buy the Infinix Hot 70
- Battery that lasts. 6,000mAh gets most people through a full day with charge to spare, and 45W charging gets you to about half in roughly 25 minutes.
- Tougher than most budget phones. IP65 means rain and dust are less of a worry, and Infinix rates it to survive a 1.5m drop.
- Room to grow. The dedicated microSD slot lets you add storage later without giving up a SIM slot, useful if you run Safaricom and Airtel lines together.
- Extras you will use. NFC, an IR blaster to control the TV, FM radio and a headphone jack are all present.
- Reverse charging. At 10W it can top up earphones or a friend’s phone with a cable.

Verdict: The two share the same chip and screen size. The Hot 70 is KSh 1,700 cheaper and keeps the headphone jack. The Spark 50 Pro charges faster and survives full submersion. If you use wired earphones, take the Hot 70. If your phone gets soaked often, the Spark 50 Pro is worth the extra.
