Description
Google Pixel 6a Price in Kenya
The Google Pixel 6a is KSh 27,499 at Avechi for the 6GB/128GB version, in stock now. It includes a 1-year Avechi warranty, with delivery or pick-up from our Nairobi shop available. Google does not sell Pixels officially in Kenya, so warranty cover is Avechi’s.
The Pixel 6a came out in July 2022 and was Google’s first budget phone with its own Tensor chip. It is now the cheapest Pixel in our range. It makes sense as a first smartphone, a backup handset or a phone for someone who mainly uses WhatsApp, the camera and maps. Its main limit is time: Google’s update support ends in mid-2027.

Who should buy the Pixel 6a
- Buyers on a tight budget who want a good camera. The stabilised 12.2MP main camera still takes clean daytime photos and handles low light better than most phones near KSh 27,000.
- Anyone who needs a light, compact phone. At 178g and 6.1″, it is easy to carry all day and fits small pockets.
- People who want protection from splashes and dust. IP67 is rare at this price, which helps in rainy season or on dusty roads.
- Short-term users. If you need a reliable phone for a year, for example while waiting to upgrade, it fits that role well.
If you plan to keep a phone for three years or more, look at the Pixel 7a or 8a below instead. Once support stops in July 2027, the 6a will no longer receive security patches.
Pros and cons

| Capable main camera with OIS | 60Hz screen feels less smooth than newer phones |
| IP67 dust and water protection | No wireless charging |
| Light and compact at 178g | 6GB RAM and an older chip limit heavy gaming |
| Clean Android with no bloatware | 8MP selfie camera records only 1080p |
Pixel 6a vs Pixel 7a
| Pixel 6a (2022) | Pixel 7a (2023) | |
|---|---|---|
| Processor / RAM | Tensor, 6GB | Tensor G2, 8GB |
| Screen refresh rate | 60Hz | 90Hz |

| Updates until at least | July 2027 | May 2028 |
| Avechi price (128GB) | KSh 27,499 | KSh 38,499 |
Verdict: The 7a is the better phone in every area and gets about ten more months of updates. The 6a saves you KSh 11,000. Choose the 6a only if that saving matters more than a smoother screen, a sharper camera and longer support.
Other phones to consider
- Google Pixel 7a (KSh 38,499): 64MP camera, 90Hz screen, wireless charging and support to May 2028.
- Google Pixel 6 (from KSh 30,999): a bigger 6.4″ Pixel with a 50MP camera and wireless charging, but its Google support window closes in October 2026, earlier than the 6a’s.
- Google Pixel 8a (from KSh 45,499): the long-term choice, with updates until 2031.
- Samsung Galaxy A16 4G (KSh 19,999): a cheaper, newer phone promised up to 6 Android upgrades, if long support matters more than camera quality.
