What the Note 14 Pro 4G does well
- Sharp selfies and video calls. The 32MP front camera is a clear step up from the 16MP or 20MP sensors common at this price, which helps on Zoom interviews and TikTok clips.
- 4K recording. Many 4G phones near KSh 30,000 stop at 1080p. Here you can record 4K at 30fps, with OIS on the main camera to steady footage.
- A screen that copes with sunlight. 1,800 nits peak keeps maps and M-Pesa messages readable outdoors, and Victus 2 glass is tougher than the Gorilla Glass 5 on the Note 14S.
- A full day of battery. 5,500mAh is a comfortable size for streaming and social media, and 45W charging is quick enough for a midday top-up.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 200MP main camera with OIS | No 5G |
| 32MP selfie camera and 4K video | Helio G100 Ultra is slower than 5G chips at the same price |
| Bright AMOLED with Victus 2 glass | Started on Android 14, older than most current phones |
| 5,500mAh battery | Only splash resistant (IP64) |
| Light at 180g | The Note 14 Pro 5G costs only KSh 500 more |

| Selfie | 32MP | 16MP |

Verdict: The Pro 4G is the better camera phone thanks to 4K video and the 32MP selfie camera, and its battery is larger. The Note 14S charges faster and saves you KSh 3,000. Pick the Pro 4G if you record video or take many selfies.
4G or 5G?
At Avechi the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G (8GB/256GB) costs KSh 31,999, just KSh 500 more than this model. It adds 5G and a more powerful chipset. Unless you specifically want the 4G version, the 5G model is the better buy at current prices.
