Why buy the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
- Two full-size screens. Closed, the 6.5-inch cover display works like any regular phone. Open, you get 8 inches for reading, editing and running apps side by side.
- The best camera on a Samsung foldable this year. A 200MP main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide and 3x telephoto with OIS put it close to Samsung’s S-series flagships.
- Thinner than you would expect. At 8.9mm closed and 4.1mm open, it is not much thicker than a slab phone in your pocket.
- A 5,000mAh battery. Larger than the Fold 8’s 4,800mAh, with 45W wired and 20W wireless charging.
- Built to last on the software side. Seven Android upgrades from Android 17 make a high price easier to justify over many years.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Regular-size 6.5-inch cover screen | Very expensive, especially at 1TB |
| 200MP camera with 3x zoom | IP48: limited dust protection |
| Large 8-inch inner display | Heavier than the Fold 8 |
| 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging | No 5x periscope like the S26 Ultra |
| Seven Android upgrades | Plastic inner screen surface |

| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 | Snapdragon 8 Elite |
| Weight | 215g | 309g |
| Battery | 5,000mAh | 5,600mAh |
| Water and dust | Same: IP48 | |
| Avechi price | From KSh 194,199 | KSh 434,999 |
Verdict: The Z TriFold gives you two more inches of screen, but it weighs almost 100g more and costs more than twice as much. The Fold 8 Ultra is the foldable most people should buy if they want the biggest screen that still feels like a phone.
