Samsung launched the A26 5G in March 2025. It sits just below the A36 and brings several features that were once kept for pricier models: an IP67 rating, glass on both sides, a 120Hz AMOLED screen and six Android upgrades. Why buy the Galaxy A26 5G
- Survives a dunk. IP67 means it can handle rain, a spilled drink or a short drop into fresh water. Few phones under KSh 30,000 carry that rating.
- Smooth 120Hz AMOLED. Scrolling through feeds and long documents looks fluid, and the always-on display shows time and alerts without waking the phone.
- Glass on both sides. Victus+ glass front and back makes it feel more expensive than it is.
- 4K video with stabilisation. The OIS main camera records 4K, useful for family events and small business product clips.
- Long support. Six Android upgrades from Android 15 keep it secure and current for years.

| Up to 6 Android upgrades | No headphone jack |
| microSD support | No charger in the box |

| Avechi price | From KSh 21,799 (8GB/256GB KSh 29,999) | From KSh 31499 |
Verdict: The A17 4G is the better buy if your budget stops near KSh 22,000. But once you are looking at its top 8GB/256GB version, the A26 5G 6GB/128GB costs slightly less and adds 5G, a faster chip, a 120Hz screen, 4K recording and real water resistance. At that budget the A26 is the smarter choice.
