This is a small set-top box for streaming video on a TV. It connects through HDMI and uses a quad-core Hi3798M chip with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. You can join your router over dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) or by a wired RJ45 port. The maker’s product page does not give a launch date, so we have not listed one. It suits anyone who wants to add streaming to an older or basic television without spending much, and who mainly watches HD content rather than 4K or demanding games.

Why buy the Porodo Android TV Box
- Full HD output: The box is rated for 1080p, which is the resolution most TVs in homes today are set to display.
- Two Wi-Fi bands: The 5GHz band can be less crowded than 2.4GHz when your router is close by, and the 2.4GHz band reaches further.
- Wired option: The RJ45 port gives a steady cable connection when Wi-Fi signal is weak in a far corner of the house.
- Room for media: Two USB 2.0 ports let you play files from a flash drive or connect a small accessory.
- Plug fits Kenyan sockets: The UK 3-pin plug matches the sockets used in Kenya, so you do not need a travel adapter.
