Why buy the itel A06
- One of the cheapest ways onto Android 14. The Go edition keeps apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Lite and M-Pesa usable on 2GB of RAM.
- Room to grow. A separate microSD slot means you can add a card for music, sermons or school videos without giving up a SIM slot.
- A big screen for the money. The 6.56-inch panel makes reading messages and watching short clips easier than on older compact budget phones.
- Fingerprint and face unlock. Basic security that many phones under KSh 10,000 used to skip.
- Headphone jack and USB-C. Use cheap wired earphones and a modern charging cable.

|---|---|---|
| Storage | 32GB | 64GB |
| RAM | Same: 2GB | |
| Screen, cameras, battery | Same: 6.56″ screen, 8MP + 5MP cameras, 4,000mAh | |
| microSD slot | Yes on both | |
| Avechi price | KSh 8,699 | KSh 10,299 |
Verdict: The phones are identical apart from storage. The 64GB model costs KSh 600 more, which is less than a decent memory card, and the system already takes a good part of 32GB. If you plan to install more than a handful of apps, the 64GB version is the smarter buy. If the phone is only for calls and WhatsApp, the 32GB model with a card is enough.
Other phones to consider
- itel A300C 4GB/64GB (KSh 12,699): double the RAM for smoother app switching.
- Tecno Spark Go 3 4GB/64GB (KSh 14,799): a newer budget phone with 4GB of RAM.
- Samsung Galaxy A07s 4GB/64GB (KSh 16,499): for a Samsung with longer software support.
- Infinix Smart 20 4GB/64GB (KSh 14,799): another 4GB option if your budget can stretch.
