What the Honor X8d does well
- Big battery in a thin body. The silicon-carbon cell squeezes 7,000mAh into a phone only 7.5mm thick, so you get two-day potential without a bulky handset.
- AMOLED at a budget price. Deep blacks and Full HD sharpness make films and YouTube look far better than on the HD LCD panels common below KSh 30,000.
- 45W charging. A short top-up while you get ready in the morning adds a meaningful chunk of battery.
- Plenty of storage. The base model already has 256GB, and the listed microSD slot gives room to grow.
- Light for its size. At 188g it is easier to hold for long chats than many big-battery phones.

| In-display fingerprint reader | IP65 only, not submersible |
| Light at 188g | Plastic build |

|---|---|---|
| Network | 4G only | 5G |
| Processor | Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 |
| Display | 6.77″ AMOLED, 1080p | 6.79″ AMOLED, 1200p, up to 6,000 nits peak |
| Battery / charging | 7,000mAh / 45W | 8,300mAh / 66W |
| Water and dust | IP65 | IP68 and IP69K |
| Video | 1080p | 4K at 30fps |
| Memory card | Listed | No |
| Avechi price (8GB/256GB) | KSh 27,999 | KSh 41,999 |
Verdict: The X9d is better in every technical way, adding 5G, a larger battery, real water resistance and 4K video. It also costs KSh 14,000 more. If you mainly chat, browse and stream on 4G, the X8d covers the basics well for much less.
