Why buy the Pixel 11 Pro Fold
- Dust protection on a foldable. IP68 covers fine dust as well as water. Samsung’s 2026 Fold models are rated IP48, which gives far less protection against dust. That difference matters on dusty roads and building sites.
- A full-size phone when closed. The 6.5″ cover screen is wide enough to type and browse normally, so you only open the phone when a bigger view helps.
- Real zoom. The 5x telephoto has optical stabilisation and reaches up to 30x Super Zoom, more reach than the 3x lens on Samsung’s Fold 8 Ultra.
- Support until 2033. Seven years of Android and security updates protects a large investment.
- Magnetic wireless charging. 25W Pixelsnap charging works with Qi2 stands and mounts without a magnetic case.

| 16GB RAM on every version | No charger in the box |
| Seven years of updates, Wi-Fi 7 | No Google service centre in Kenya |

Verdict: The Samsung is thinner, lighter and charges faster, and its 200MP main camera has more detail to work with. The Pixel costs about KSh 10,000 less, has more RAM, longer optical zoom and full IP68 protection. If dust and durability worry you, or you want Pixel software, choose the Pixel. If you care most about a slim pocketable fold, pick the Samsung.
Other phones to consider
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (from KSh 194,199): slimmer and lighter, with a 200MP main camera.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 (from KSh 174,999): a wider, shorter foldable for slightly less money.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (from KSh 151,999): a cheaper way into a book-style foldable.
- Google Pixel 11 Pro XL (from KSh 128,999): the same Pixel generation without the hinge, for much less.
