Apple announced the iPhone 17e on 2 March 2026 and it went on sale on 11 March. It is the newest and most affordable model in the iPhone 17 family. Compared with the 16e it replaces, it moves to the A19 chip and Apple’s faster C1X modem, adds MagSafe, and doubles the starting storage to 256GB. It is meant for people who want a current iPhone with long support and do not need extra cameras or a 120Hz screen.

| 512GB | KSh 96,499 | Heavy video users; only KSh 6,500 more for double the space |

Why buy the iPhone 17e
- The longest support of any budget iPhone. As the newest model we stock under KSh 100,000, it should keep getting iOS and security updates the longest.
- MagSafe at last. Magnetic chargers, wallets and car mounts now snap on, and wireless charging is twice as fast as on the 16e.
- Tougher screen glass. Apple says Ceramic Shield 2 resists scratches three times better than before, which helps if your phone shares a pocket with keys.
- A faster, more efficient modem. Apple says the C1X modem is up to twice as fast as the 16e’s C1, while using less power than the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro.
- 256GB to start. You get double the 16e’s base storage, so there is room for years of photos and apps.

Verdict: The iPhone 17 gives you a 120Hz screen, an ultra-wide camera, a better selfie camera and four more hours of battery. That costs KSh 34,000 more at 256GB. If you mostly message, browse and take everyday photos, the 17e covers it and the saving is large. If you care about the screen and camera, the iPhone 17 is worth stretching for.

iPhone 17e FAQs
How much does the iPhone 17e cost in Kenya?
As of October 2026, Avechi sells the iPhone 17e for KSh 89,999 (256GB) and KSh 96,499 (512GB).
Does the iPhone 17e support MagSafe?
Yes. It works with MagSafe and Qi2 chargers at up to 15W, and magnetic accessories attach directly.
Can I use a physical SIM in the iPhone 17e?
International versions, such as the one sold in South Africa, take one nano-SIM plus eSIM and can also hold two eSIMs. US versions of recent iPhones are eSIM only, so ask us which version is in stock before you order.

Choose the 17e for MagSafe, the newer chip and longer support. Choose the 16e 128GB if you want the lowest price and can live with less storage.
Does the iPhone 17e come with a charger?
No, only a USB-C cable. A 20W or higher USB-C adapter charges it to about half in 30 minutes.
