Vitron 43″ Whale TV (HTC43w) Price in Kenya
At Avechi the Vitron 43″ Whale TV is KSh 19,199. It is in stock and comes with a 1-year warranty, with delivery or pick-up from our Nairobi shop.
The HTC43w is a 43-inch Full HD smart TV from Vitron, a budget brand common in Kenyan electronics shops. “Whale” refers to its software: Whale OS, a smart TV system made by Whale TV, the Singapore company formerly called Zeasn, whose software also runs on some Philips and Sharp TVs. It is not Android, so it uses its own app catalogue instead of the Google Play Store. The TV fits a medium bedroom or a small lounge. Vitron has not published a full spec sheet, so the figures below come from our listing.

Why buy the Vitron 43″ Whale TV
- Free-to-air TV out of the box. Plug in an aerial and the DVB-T2 tuner finds local stations, with no set-top box to buy.
- Free channels on top of the apps. Whale OS includes Whale TV+, a set of free ad-supported streaming channels, and lets you share photos and video from your phone.
- Room for your other boxes. Two HDMI inputs take a pay-TV decoder and a games console at the same time, and two USB ports play media from flash drives.
- A bigger screen for little extra. It costs KSh 1,500 more than the Vitron 40″ Smart TV for three more inches of screen.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| DVB-T2 tuner built in | Full HD only, despite “2K” in the name |
| Voice remote included | No Google Play Store on Whale OS |
| Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet | No speaker wattage or HDR format published |
| Low price for 43 inches | Limited official documentation from Vitron |
Which size is right for your room?
A 43″ Full HD set looks best from roughly 1.6 to 2.7 metres. Sitting closer is fine for a bedroom, but at under 1.5 metres the picture starts to look soft. For a tighter space, the Vitron 40″ Smart TV costs KSh 17,699.
Vitron 43″ Whale TV vs Vitron 43″ Android TV
| Vitron 43″ Whale TV | Vitron 43″ Android TV | |
|---|---|---|
| Smart platform | Whale OS (own app catalogue) | Android TV (Google Play Store) |
| Screen | 43″ LED | |
| Avechi price | KSh 19,199 | KSh 19,199 |
Verdict: Both cost the same, so the choice comes down to software. Pick the Android TV if you rely on a specific app, such as a local sports or church streaming app, that is only on the Play Store. Pick the Whale TV if you mainly watch free-to-air channels, YouTube and Netflix and want simpler menus.
