Why buy the Redmi Note 14
- AMOLED at a budget price. Many phones near KSh 28,000 still use LCD panels. The Note 14 has a 120Hz AMOLED screen with deep blacks, which makes videos and dark-mode apps look better.
- Room for everything. 256GB of storage plus a microSD slot means you rarely need to delete photos or WhatsApp media to free space.
- Wired audio still works. It keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack, so cheap earphones and car aux cables plug straight in. The stereo speakers are a bonus for video calls.
- Detailed daytime photos. The 108MP main sensor holds plenty of detail in good light, handy for shooting items you sell on WhatsApp or Instagram.
- A battery that lasts. 5,500mAh is enough for a full working day of calls, browsing and social media for most users.
Pros and cons

| Large 5,500mAh battery | 33W charging is not fast by today’s standards |
| IR blaster for TV and AC remotes | Only IP54, so keep it away from water |

Verdict: For KSh 4,000 more, the Pro 5G adds 5G, a faster chip, a stabilised 200MP camera, 4K video and IP68 protection. That is a lot for the money. Pick the standard Note 14 only if you want the headphone jack, a memory card slot or a slightly bigger battery.
