Why buy the Samsung Galaxy A08
- Large battery: The 6,000mAh cell is the main reason to buy this phone. It charges at up to 25W over a cable.
- Smooth screen for the price: The 6.7-inch panel refreshes at 90Hz, so scrolling and menus feel faster than on a standard 60Hz screen.
- Room for files: The dedicated microSD slot takes cards up to 2TB, so you can add storage later.
- Dust and splash protection: The IP64 rating covers dust and water splashes, which helps in dusty Nairobi weather and rainy seasons.
- Longer software support: Samsung lists up to 6 major Android updates, which is more than most phones at this price offer.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 6,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging | Screen is HD+ (1600 x 720), not Full HD |
| 90Hz refresh rate on a 6.7-inch screen | Only 4GB of RAM and no 5G |
| microSD slot up to 2TB | No NFC, so no tap-to-pay with the phone |
| IP64 dust and splash resistance | Main camera has no optical stabilisation |
| Up to 6 major Android updates | Helio G99 is a budget chip, so heavy gaming will be limited |
