Why buy the OnePlus 13s
- Flagship power in a small body. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is one of the fastest Android chips of its generation, here in a phone just 71.7mm wide.
- A big battery for its size. 5,850mAh is more than many larger phones carry, and 80W charging gets you to half in around 20 minutes.
- A real zoom camera. The 50MP 2x telephoto is better for portraits and distant subjects than cropping from the main sensor.
- 512GB as standard at Avechi. Both stocked versions have plenty of room for 4K clips, music and games.
- The Plus Key. The side button can be set to launch the camera, switch sound profiles or open other shortcuts.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Snapdragon 8 Elite speed | No ultra-wide camera |
| Compact and light at 185g | Only IP65, not fully waterproof |
| 5,850mAh battery with 80W charging | No memory card slot |
| 50MP 2x telephoto camera | Small screen is not ideal for long video sessions |
| 512GB storage on both stocked versions | Fewer Android upgrades than Samsung or Pixel flagships |
OnePlus 13s vs OnePlus Nord 6
| OnePlus 13s | OnePlus Nord 6 | |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 |
| Screen | 6.32″, 120Hz LTPO | 6.78″, 165Hz |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main + 50MP 2x telephoto | 50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide |
| Battery | 5,850mAh | 7,500mAh (global) |
| Water resistance | IP65 | IP68 and IP69K |
| Weight | 185g | 210g |
| Avechi price (12GB) | KSh 70,999 (512GB) | KSh 65,999 (256GB), KSh 66,499 (512GB) |
Verdict: These two cost about the same at Avechi but suit different people. The 13s is the faster, more pocketable phone with the better zoom camera. The Nord 6 has a bigger screen, a larger battery and far better water protection. If phone size matters to you, get the 13s; otherwise the Nord 6 gives more for slightly less.
