Why buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max
- A 5x zoom that brings far subjects close. The periscope lens is useful at graduations, church events and football matches where you cannot get near the action.
- Battery for long days. Apple rates it at up to 33 hours of video, so most people finish the day with charge to spare, even with heavy maps and WhatsApp use.
- The largest iPhone screen of its year. The 6.9-inch display is comfortable for reading, editing documents and watching films on a commute.
- Camera Control for quick shots. A press of the side button opens the camera, and a light slide adjusts zoom or exposure without touching the screen.
- Proven, mature hardware. Two years after launch, its software is polished and it still gets regular iOS updates.

Verdict: With only KSh 3,000 between them, the 16 Pro Max is the clear pick. It has a larger screen, a sharper ultra-wide camera, 4K at 120fps, more battery and a newer chip that will be supported for longer. The 15 Pro Max only makes sense if you prefer a slightly smaller and lighter body.

- Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB, KSh 146,999): a slightly lighter older Pro Max with the same 5x zoom.
- Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (12GB/256GB, KSh 116,999): a newer Android flagship with an S Pen, for much less.
