Why buy the Redmi 15C
- Battery that outlasts the day. 6,000mAh is more than many phones costing twice as much. Moderate users can often finish a second day before reaching for the charger.
- Much quicker top-ups than older budget phones. 33W wired charging is a big step up from the slow chargers common under KSh 20,000, so a short charge before leaving the house goes a long way.
- A big screen for video. The 6.9-inch panel is one of the largest you can get at this price, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel smooth.
- No storage juggling. There is a dedicated memory card slot, so you can add a microSD card and still use two SIM cards.
- Old-school extras kept. It still has a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio, handy for wired earphones and listening to local stations without data.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Large 6,000mAh battery | HD+ resolution looks soft next to AMOLED phones |
| 33W charging | Helio G81 Ultra is slow for demanding games |
| 6.9″ 120Hz screen | Only one useful rear camera |
| Dedicated microSD slot and headphone jack | 4G only, no 5G |
| IP64 protection against dust and splashes | Heavy at 205g and quite tall |
Redmi 15C vs Redmi 14C
| Redmi 14C (2024) | Redmi 15C (2025) | |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | 6.88″ LCD, 120Hz | 6.9″ LCD, 120Hz |
| Processor | Helio G81 Ultra | Helio G81 Ultra |
| Battery | 5,160mAh | 6,000mAh |
| Charging | 18W | 33W |
| Main camera | 50MP | 50MP |
| Selfie camera | 13MP | 8MP |
| Avechi price | Out of stock | From KSh 17,199 |
Verdict: The chip and main camera are the same, so day-to-day speed does not change. The reasons to pick the 15C are the bigger battery and charging that is nearly twice as fast. Selfie fans lose some resolution. With the 14C no longer in stock, the 15C is the Xiaomi to buy at this price.
