Why buy the iPhone 15
- A 48MP main camera. It captures more detail than the 12MP sensors on older standard iPhones, and the 2x option gives clean portraits without a separate telephoto lens.
- One cable for everything. USB-C means the same charger can top up the phone, a laptop and most earbuds, which helps if you travel upcountry with one bag.
- Still well supported. It already runs iOS 27, and Apple’s minimum of five years of security fixes covers it until at least late 2028.
- Light and easy to hold. At 171g with a 6.1-inch screen, it suits people who find big phones tiring in one hand.
- Water protection that matters. IP68 to 6m means a spilled drink or heavy rain on the walk home is not a disaster.

| IP68 to 6m | Slower charging than the iPhone 17 |

Verdict: The 15 Pro adds a smoother screen, a 3x zoom lens and Apple Intelligence, but it costs about KSh 37,000 more. At that price you can also buy a 256GB iPhone 17, which is newer. For most buyers on a budget, the iPhone 15 is the sensible choice. Stretch further only if you want the newest features.
